It would be an understatement to say I love to make costumes. Every year, as soon as I start to feel a chill in the air, I ask my kids what they want to be for Halloween.
Over the years, we’ve created many fun costumes. One of my favorites was a giant box of popcorn costume, complete with a kernel headband.
This year, the kids requested Link, Breath of the Wild from a popular Switch video game, The Legend of Zelda, and a Delorean. Complete with a Flux Capacitator from the first Back to the Future movie. No problem. We’ve got this. Maybe.
There’s a local place called The Scrapbox, and we love to find costume supplies there.

REUSE • REPURPOSE • RECYCLE!
Making costumes at home is affordable, fun, and great family time. Yes, there will probably be an epic mess to clean up afterwards, but those are the best kind of messes in my opinion. The kind that make family memories that last.
As I write this we are halfway done.
