IN CASE YOU HAVEN’T HEARD, THERE’S A FUN NEW TRADITION CREEPING THROUGH THE SUBURBS.
It’s called BOO’ing.
You may have seen little signs in windows, with a smiling ghost, or words that say WE’VE BEEN BOO’ED!
BOO’ing is similar to a Secret Santa. Create a small package of Halloween themed goodies, and make a list of neighbors, friends and family to give them to. Have your kids run up to the front door, drop the Boo Bag on the porch, ring the bell, and run back to the car. Be sure to park just out of sight, and in a location where kids aren’t running back to the car through a street.
When it first happened to us, it was such a delight for the kids. They were absolutely thrilled a friend included them, and the mystery of figuring out who it was from was fun. We have ‘caught’ friends occasionally mid-Boo, or been caught ourselves. It just adds to the excitement for the kids and adults alike.
